Robert King was rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital just after 7:30 p.m. when he was hit by a car on Summit Street near Christina Drive, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said. Doctors could not save his life.
The prosecutor is withholding the driver's name until the investigation is complete. Peabody police and Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section will handle the probe.
No charges have been filed in the case.
